I climbed upon the
dirty roof at midnight,
Figuring that was the hour
To howl my distress over
the murmuring darkness
of the sleeping city.
I screamed into the blue void,
hoping to shatter space
with a desperate echo.
I demanded the attention
of the universe-
craving
satisfaction less sinister
than the strangling hands
of uncertainty.
But, all I received
was a cold, silent film:
the stars remained voiceless,
their spheres uninterested.
And the lonely moon pulled a
Dark blanket of clouds
Across its broad chest.
Shadow overtook the world.
And the only sound
was the echo of my pleading.
A voice left floating in
interminable space,
While your death still remained
an empty question
Asked repeatedly,
Of a silent diety.
filme noir presents:
July 23rd, 1992
An Interminable Affair.
Tin roof,
high noon,
Olde English 40s
Burning soles,
heat wave buzz,
endless blocks
Floating expletives,
cigarette burns,
choking smoke
Sinister little hearts find their way.

interminable floating
sinister…listening
shadow visible….
below
roof dancing…slow, close
sound of guitars
soprano voices singing
low notes
smell of barbecue smoke
shadow visible
sinister…listening
interminable floating
film noir
